BREAKFAST MIX

Uppuma

To serve 4-5 persons
Ingredient | Quantity |

Melam Roasted Rava | 250 g |
Oil | 3 tsp |
Mustard seeds | 1 tsp |
Urad dal / Chana dal | 3/4 tsp |
Asafoetida | a pinch |
Curry leaves | a few |
Onion chopped | 1 no |
Ginger grated | 1 inch piece |
Green Chillies chopped | 2 nos |
Optional vegetables carrot, beans, potato, peas | 25-50 gm |
Water | 600 ml |
Salt | to taste |
Ghee | 1/2 tsp |
Coriander leaves – for garnish | a few sprigs |
Cooking method:
- Take Melam Roasted Rava
- Heat oil and season with Mustard seeds, Urad dal /Chana dal, Asafoetida and some curry leaves
- Then add chopped onion , grated ginger and chopped green chillies
- Saute for 2-3 mins till the onion becomes translucent
- Add all the chopped vegetables and saute for another 3-4 minutes
- Add water, salt to taste and bring it to boil
- When water starts boiling, add ghee
- Add rava gradually to the boiling water with continuous stirring so that no lumps are formed
- Cover it and cook on low flame until mixture turns thick
- Garnish it with coriander leaves
- Serve it with , chutney of your choice
